This Fast Ethernet Bridge allows copper-based Ethernet networks to be coupled via fibre optic connections. The fibre optic connection allows very long distances to be bridged and at the same time provides an interference-prone and galvanically decoupled connection. The integrated 10/100 Mbit/s autonegotiation function on the copper interface enables connection of older networks with low data rates. On the optical side, versions for multimode or monomode fibres are available. The RJ-45 connector automatically configures itself to the highest possible transmission speed for 10 Mbps (10Base-T Ethernet), 100 Mbps (100Base-TX Fast Ethernet). In addition to the version for multimode fibres (100Base-FX), a version for single-mode fibres (100Base-LX) is also available. Compact Fast Ethernet Bridge, compatible with IEEE 802.3, 802.3u standards, automatic configuration via autonegotiation, flow control in accordance with IEEE802.3x
