The trunking has two functions: it serves both as a stable mounting rail for the light carriers and as a housing for the power supply cables of the individual units. All track sections are made of white or silver painted hot-dip galvanised steel. They are available in special TL5 lengths of 1, 2 and 3 light carriers for 49 W (35 W, 80 W) and 54 W (28 W). The Maxos LED light carrier 4MX850 491 is also used with these mounting rails. One (5- or 7-core) or two (2 x 5-core or 2 x 7-core) ribbon cables are integrated into the rail, so that safe and correct cabling is possible at all times in conjunction with an integrated phase selector switch and connection blocks. The 7-core cable is used to connect a light control or emergency lighting to the light supports equipped with an emergency lighting battery pack. Double cables (2 x 5-core or 2 x 7-core) are required if the light supports are to be connected to a complete separate power supply. They are mainly used for emergency lighting via central emergency batteries or separate switching operations. In these cases, no additional connection blocks or cables are then required. With suspended continuous rows, the trunking sections are connected to each other via the integrated electrical connection and a robust external mechanical coupling piece (accessory). Ceiling-mounted continuous rows use the same integrated electrical connection and an internal coupling (accessory). Cables can be routed through special knock-out openings in the upper section of the trunking as required. The trunking is supplied with a complete range of interchangeable components, making it very flexible to fit. The excellent stability of the sections and couplings allows mounting distances of 3.4 to 5 metres. The basic accessories for Maxos TL-D / LED trunking can also be used for TL5 / LED trunking.
