This Gigabit Ethernet bridge allows copper-based Ethernet networks to be connected via fiber optic connections. The fiber optic connection enables very long distances to be bridged while providing a reliable and galvanically isolated connection. The integrated 10/100/1000 Mbps autonegotiation function on the copper interface allows for the integration of older networks with lower data rates. On the optical side, versions for multimode or single mode fibers are available, as well as a variant with an SFP slot that offers a wide selection of different SFPs. In addition to standard multimode and single mode SFPs for various distances, there are also C/DWDM and bidirectional simplex SFPs available. The link transparency and switching mode can be configured via DIP switches. Color-coded LEDs indicate the current status of the bridge and can be used for network troubleshooting. The RJ-45 connection automatically configures itself to the highest possible transmission speed for 10 Mbps (10Base-T Ethernet), 100 Mbps (100Base-TX Fast Ethernet), or 1 Gbps (1000Base-T). The integrated auto crossover function also detects the pinout for connections to a switch or computer, eliminating the need for different RJ-45 cables. SFP slot.
