The D fuse system is used in low-voltage installations where the fuse-links are accessible to and can be replaced by laymen. The D fuse range includes the sizes NDZ, DII, DIII, DIV and DV. D fuse-links are used for the protection of lines and installations. They safely switch off impermissible overcurrents and short-circuit currents up to the rated breaking current. D Fuse links of operating class gG also protect electrical equipment and installations from the electrodynamic effect of high short-circuit currents. DIN VDE 0636-30.
