The CIRCON circulation control unit makes it possible to avoid constant heat loss when circulating hot water.Previously: A hot water circulation pump ensures that the water in the pipework is constantly circulated. The cooling water is continuously replaced by hot water, even when no hot water is needed.Heating energy is constantly lost through heat dissipation to the masonry and the environment. In addition to this loss of heat energy, the electric circulation pump is in operation around the clock and the boiler requires additional heating cycles to heat the buffer tank more frequently. The solution:CIRCON is a microcontroller-controlled ballast for the hot water circulation pump that minimises the circulation times associated with energy loss. How it worksSwitches the circulation pump on as required:1. On random demand:i.e. after briefly opening any hot water valve in the house. This causes a short burst of hot water to shoot from the boiler into the riser pipe and is immediately detected by the temperature sensor. The pump is switched on. Despite the valve being closed again in the meantime, hot water is available after a short time. The returning water in the circulation pipe is monitored by another temperature sensor. If this registers an increase in temperature, the pump is switched off, as all taps have now been sufficiently supplied. 2. Predictive circulation:If regular, daily consumption patterns are recognised, CIRCON starts automatically in advance so that there are no waiting times. The device is therefore constantly "learning" and constantly compares the predictive running times with actual tapping times. If the habits deviate significantly at weekends, this is also automatically recognised by the device. During longer absences, e.g. holidays, pump runs are completely stopped except for occasional flushing runs (legionella monitoring). If hot water is drawn off again at some point, the memorised habitual rhythm is immediately reactivated.A setting slot on the side of the appliance allows you to determine the compromise between maximum savings and optimum convenience: In the centre position, both are balanced. The more you adjust into the red range, the more comfort prevails, i.e. habits that are rarely observed are learnt more quickly and remain valid for longer without refreshing. If the adjustment is made to the blue range, the saving effect predominates, i.e. only regularly recurring and more time-bound habits are learnt.
