with PTFE sealing ring- Connection: DN 15 (1/2") AGThe water hammerExperience shows that every rapid change in the flow rate of the water in a pipe is followed by sudden pressure disturbances. These disturbances, i.e. the rapid alternation of overpressure and underpressure, reach their maximum extent when the water flow is suddenly interrupted by the rapid closing of a device (valve or tap) or due to accidental circumstances, such as the stopping of a pump. The resulting overpressures propagate at high speed in the flow medium and cause a series of violent shocks both to the device that has interrupted the water flow and to the pipe in which this device is installed. The phenomenon described above is called water hammerand is often accompanied by vibrations and loud noises. The extent of the resulting overpressures is influenced by the closing time of the devices that determine the change in flow rate, and also by other factors.
