Scotch® electrical insulating tape 88 is a particularly thick premium electrical insulating tape with a PVC film backing. It is characterised by its high abrasion resistance and mechanical strength. The insulating tape is coated with a rubber adhesive that has excellent adhesive strength and elasticity even at sub-zero temperatures. The 0.22 millimetre thick adhesive tape is self-extinguishing and resistant to temperatures of up to 105 °C in the long term. It withstands a breakdown voltage of 10,000 volts and is resistant to moisture, UV radiation, oil, acids, alkalis and copper corrosion. This makes the PVC tape ideal for all electrical insulations up to one kilovolt that place high demands on chemical, physical and mechanical resilience.
