Scotch® Glass Reinforced Polyester Tape 45 combines the good electrical properties of a polyester film with the high stability of a glass fabric tape. The 0.177 millimetre thick insulating tape can withstand a breakdown voltage of 5,500 volts and has a temperature resistance of up to 105 °C, making it a class A insulating material. At the same time, the printable polyester tape is coated with a flame-retardant, extremely strong thermosetting silicone adhesive and therefore has a very high tensile strength. This makes it suitable for all types of bundling, fastening and suspension with high mechanical loads. Due to its extreme tensile strength, the tape is also suitable for short-circuit current resistant bundling of medium voltage cables. As the transparent polyester tape is not UV-resistant, a cover with PVC insulating tape is required for outdoor applications.
